What stays on your computer

Your work never reaches us. The model you connect is the one part that has to see your request, and we say so plainly.

Read this first, because the word "offline" is often oversold. Caelia is not an offline AI. The thinking is done by a model provider you connect, over the internet, and your request goes to them. What is local is everything else - and that turns out to be almost everything.

What never leaves your PC

  • Your files, and anything Caelia reads out of them.
  • Your conversation history and the memory it keeps about you and your work.
  • Your model provider keys, in your own user folder.
  • Your settings, chosen personality and voice.
  • Your WhatsApp session, if you link one.

We have no copy of any of it and no way to fetch it. There is no account to sign into and no cloud workspace holding your work.

What does leave, and where it goes

To your model provider: the request you made and the context it needs - text you typed, your speech, a screenshot, an extract from a document. Unavoidable, because that is the part doing the reasoning. What they keep is governed by their privacy policy, so it is worth reading the one belonging to whichever provider you pick. We do not receive a copy.

To our licence service: your licence key, an identifier derived from your computer by a one-way hash, your Windows version, and your Windows account name. That is how one key is stopped from running on twenty machines. It carries none of your files, chats or keys.

To our update server: a request for a newer version. An ordinary file download.

Microphone, camera, screen

The microphone is used while you are speaking or while wake-word listening is on, and you control that. The camera is for gesture control and only when you turn it on. Screen capture happens when you ask for it. None of the three runs as a background recorder, and nothing from them is stored by us.

Why this shape was chosen

A cloud assistant has to hold your work to be useful. A desktop assistant does not - it is already sitting where the work is. So the honest claim is not "we encrypt your data", it is "we never have it". The full detail, including what we hold as a company, is on the privacy page.

Can I run it with no internet at all?

No, and any product telling you otherwise about a capable assistant is worth a second look. The model needs reaching. What Caelia does tolerate is a network that comes and goes: your licence keeps working through an outage rather than locking you out.

Do you have telemetry or analytics in the app?

There is no analytics service collecting your usage, and this website runs no tracking or advertising scripts. The app talks to your model provider, our licence service and our update server, and those three are listed above in full.

Which provider is most private?

That is their question rather than ours, and the answer changes. Read the policy of the one you are about to connect. It is a setting you can change later without losing anything.

No account. No cloud workspace.

A licence key, your own model provider, and your work stays where it is.
