It uses your computer
Clicking, typing, opening applications, driving a browser. On your machine, not a copy of it somewhere else.
Your desktop, not a sandbox
Caelia clicks, types, opens applications and moves windows on the machine you are sitting at. It is not a chat window that tells you which buttons to press.
It can see the screen
Ask about what is in front of you and it takes a screenshot to look. That is what makes 'fix the error in this window' a sentence that works.
Browsers, driven properly
Web work runs through a real browser engine, so a page that needs logging into, scrolling and clicking through is a page Caelia can get through.
Files and folders
Find, move, rename, sort, tidy. The unglamorous half of computer work, which is most of it.
Reads your documents
PDFs and Word files are read and summarised. Reading only - Caelia does not write them back out.
Connected hardware
Serial devices, including Arduino boards, can be driven from the same conversation. Unusual in an assistant, and genuinely present.
The line worth understanding
Automation runs on your machine. Nothing is uploaded for a server to act on your behalf, and nothing is done to your computer from somewhere else. The reasoning about what to do is done by the AI provider you connected; the doing is local.
That is the whole design, and it is also the honest limit: Caelia can only do what a person at that keyboard could do. There is no magic access to anything Windows would not give you.
Start small
The way this goes wrong is asking for something enormous on the first day. Ask it to rename a folder of files, or pull the totals out of three PDFs. Once you can see how it takes instructions, the longer jobs stop feeling like a gamble.
Can it break something?
It can do what you can do, so yes, in the same way you can. Watch the first few tasks rather than pointing it at something irreplaceable and walking away.
Does it need administrator rights?
No. Caelia installs into your user folder and runs as you.
Does it work while I am using the PC?
It shares the machine with you, so it moves your real mouse and keyboard. For long jobs most people set it going and do something else.
